What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting, and what drew you to leadership as an Accounting Manager?

I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers and uncovering the stories they tell. Helping clients understand those stories and make informed decision is something I find deeply fulfilling. Growing up in a large family taught me the value of teamwork, which has translated seamlessly into my professional life. Managing people comes with its challenges, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to support a team and see their collective success.

How do you stay up to date with changes in accounting standards or regulations?

I stay current by following monthly tax updates, keeping up with daily financial news and participating in seminars and webinars.

What is a recent professional milestone you’re particularly proud of achieving?

I successfully assisted a client in restructuring their family group businesses and investments, ensuring they were optimally set up for the future while minimising their tax liability (legally) and protecting assets.

How do you manage work-life balance during the busiest periods, such as financial year-end?

Spending time with my family, especially little fur baby, helps me to unwind and reminds me to slow down and appreciate the moment. I also love listening to music , which helps create a calming atmosphere during stressful periods.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learnt about yourself through your career in accounting?

I’ve learnt that when things don’t go as planned, it’s important to stay flexible and explore alternative solutions to resolve the issue.
